Betsy VanderLey

In October 2017, Orange County initiated a Roadway Conceptual Analysis (RCA) Study for the planned widening of Avalon Road. The Study is anticipated to be finished in May 2019.

The project extends approximately 0.43 miles from the Florida's Turnpike to State Road 50. The purpose of this Study is to determine the need for additional lanes on the existing two-lane Avalon Road, including the analysis of traffic projections, operational enhancements, environmental impacts, and input received from the public. Based on these analyses, the County will examine various alternatives and present a preferred alternative at the end of the Study. The preferred alternative will incorporate public feedback and technical evaluations assessing the net benefits of the improvements.

Go to the Study Process page to learn more about the specific activities that will be undertaken as part of the Study.
